Comment to Prevent Recreational Shooting in Wilderness Areas in Colorado

Here is where to comment. http://www.sportshootingpartners.org/commentform. Here is an article about shooting: http://www.dailycamera.com/science_columnists/ci_31556286/recreational-shooting-colorado-wilderness-areas. Given the reckless acts of some shooters, I oppose recreational shooting in the national forests. Map alternative 4 would prevent recreational shooting in national forests. Lead is spread into the ecosystem. Trees are blasted down. Bullets go near hikers, students, cars, homes and school buses.

Great Dylan Thomas Play in Boulder today at 2pm

"Under Milk Wood". The language is neat. Try to get there early so you can sit in the front. That way you will hear all of the interesting words. It describes a day in the life of a small Welsh town long ago. It reminds me of "Our Town". It describes everything: romance, squabbles, eating, drinking, gossip, death, thinking of the past and hopes for the future. There are even two or three short songs. The last performance is today at 2pm. It is at the DAiry Center here in Boulder.

Politicians & Reporters Need to Talk About Climate Change

Texas and Florida politicians deny climate change and refuse to talk about it. Ex- Exxon CEO Tillerson, now secy of state, says he will eliminate the State Dept . climate change envoy. Politicians lie about climate change to help oil companies who have given lots of money to them. https://www.democracynow.org/2017/9/11/elizabeth_kolbert_an_honest_conversation_about As temps rise, the ice melts and oceans rise. Warmer air holds more water, so storms can drop more rain. The oceans are warmer, and storms get their power from going over warm water, so storms can get get more intense.

Parasites Have Value to Ecosystems & Many May Go Extinct

Parasites are important in keeping a balance among different life forms and in processing dead creatures into food for other creatures. Parasites comprise 80 % of the food web, and the majority of the biomass. One third of parasites could go extinct due to climate change. For an example, parasites cause crickets to jump into streams where they provide food for endangered trout.

Community Rights May Stop Toxic Fracking Waste Injection Wells

    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-a-small-town-is-standing-up-to-fracking-w482577

A retired elementary school teacher, her daughter, the local League of Women Voters president, a retired coal company executive, a piano tuner, an interior designer, and other locals passed a law that gave residents the right to local self government. Thus they would no longer be limited to pro-oil state laws. The people have stopped the drilling so far. The retired teacher says she will block the trucks with her body.

Then humans, trees, rivers, wildlife, and the soil could defend themselves against toxic waste. These types of rights of nature laws have been passed in communities in 7 states and in several countries!

Solutions: Require high bonds to pay for the clean-up of polluted water ways and aquifers. Require high bonds for trying to undo harm to human health. Pass local self government (home rule). Give rights to nature. Take away rights from corporations. Support the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund: ttps://celdf.org.
